Our mission
To support people with Down's Syndrome, their families and raise awareness of the positive contribution people with Down's Syndrome make to society.
Our charity Sundowns was formed when small group of mums who had children with Down's Syndrome regularly started getting together at the Toy Library and Resource Centre in Birkenhead, Wirral.
We found it comfortable to be in the company of others who had been through the life changing experience of having a baby who has Down's Syndrome. Sharing experiences, providing advice and offering support through some anxious and many happy times.
We decided that it was important to offer the same support to other mums as we believe that the opportunity to talk to someone who has been through the same experience can stop you from feeling isolated and alone. Since then Sundowns has gone from strength to strength, proving respite care, support groups, buddy walks and much more.

National Family Law Practice Sponsors Sundowns
During November local law firm, The National Family Law Practice is donating 70% of its fees from Wills to Sundowns. This fantastic news and means that for every single Will, £100 will be donated and £150 for a mirrored Will.
Principle Solicitor, Rachel Edwards Barrot said, "Sundowns is a fantastic charity and we wanted to help raise awareness of the great work you do and also the importance of having a Will. When you think only three in ten people have a Will, it means a huge amount of families may not get their final wishes expressed when they die. Even worse, any money left could end up in the hands of the Government."
